Acts of Allyship is a community-based initiative, just like Random Acts of Kindness! This campaign encourages people like you to engage in action that will propel reconciliation across our community. This campaign encourages residents from Oakville and beyond, to learn about Debwewin: The Oakville Truth Project. This campaign asks participants to sign the online Allyship Declaration form, download the Treaty Toolkit and share their own Acts of Allyship on social media.
1) Sign the Declaration of Truth & Allyship on the Debwewin website.
Go to debwewinoakville.ca, click Allyship Signatories and select “Declaration of Truth & Allyship” from the dropdown menu. Sign your name, and don’t forget to declare your #ActofAllyship.
2) Decide what your Act of Allyship will be.
An Act of Allyship is a way to show gratitude to our Treaty Holder‘s the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. It can be anything from amplifying Indigenous voices to place-based reconciliation like creating an Indigenous-focused Harmony Garden.
3) Share your Act of Allyship on social media.
Help us to spread the word of the campaign! We have Canva templates that both organizations and individuals can edit for their own use.
